Sumiko Olympia
The Sumiko Olympia is a mid-range MM cartridge fitted with the replaceable RS Olympia elliptical stylus. It tracks at 1.8–2.2 g (nominal 2.0 g) and delivers 4 mV of output, enough for any standard MM phono input.
Sumiko Olympia is an MM cartridge with an elliptical stylus that leans toward a tidy, well-controlled presentation rather than an aggressive one. Vocals sound natural and grounded, bass stays firm without bloat, and the noise floor is admirably quiet, letting quieter passages breathe. Imaging is precise and stable, making it a satisfying match for jazz, acoustic and vocal-centric records on modestly resolving systems.

The Sumiko Olympia (MM, 6.7 g, aluminum cantilever Ø0.6 mm) pairs best with medium and heavy mass tonearms equally — its compliance suits both, with a poor match to light arms. Use a phono stage with capacitance near the 47 kΩ / 100–200 pF load for tonal accuracy; MM-level gain stages handle its 4 mV output without extra boosting.
