Shure TM2E
The Shure TM2E opens the American maker's range at the entry level. This MM cartridge pairs an elliptical stylus with a 4 mV output for any standard MM phono input. Rated tracking force runs from 1.5 to 3.0 g with 2.0 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the N75EJ Type 2, and Phono Culture lists 2 compatible replacement styli.
The Shure TM2E is tuned for easy, stress-free listening rather than forensic detail. Vocals carry natural warmth, bass keeps modest body, and dynamics stay gentle rather than punchy, while imaging spreads broad and relaxed rather than pinpoint. Casual mixed-genre listening and less-than-pristine records suit it fine. The elliptical stylus is replaceable, with the stock N75EJ Type 2 insert easy to find.
