Shure M97xE
The Shure M97xE is an MM cartridge with an elliptical stylus profile and an output level of 4 mV, so it matches the standard MM input of any phono stage. Its rated tracking force runs from 0.75 to 1.5 g, with a nominal setting of 1.25 g. The N97xE stylus is user replaceable, and Phono Culture lists four compatible replacement styli for this model.

Strong dynamics and natural vocal warmth smooth over noisy or worn pressings, while solid detail retrieval keeps it engaging without turning bright or fatiguing. Imaging is stable rather than pinpoint-precise, making this a comfortable all-rounder for rock, jazz and everyday vinyl on modest to mid-tier tables. The stylus is replaceable, so long-term upkeep is straightforward.
