SONY VL-30G
The SONY VL-30G is an entry level MM cartridge fitted with a conical stylus profile. Its 3 mV output works comfortably with any standard MM phono input, so no step up device is needed. Tracking force is rated from 2.5 to 3.5 g with a nominal setting of 3.0 g. The replaceable stylus is the ND-133G, and the Phono Culture database lists 4 compatible replacement styli for this model.
The Sony VL-30G, also listed as the VL-30 G or VL30G, is a forgiving, easygoing MM with a conical tip. Its relaxed, smooth vocal presentation and softened dynamics stay kind to older or slightly worn records, while tracking precision and stage focus keep modest. Laid-back jazz, pop and vintage collections on budget to mid systems fit it naturally. The stylus is replaceable once it wears down.
