Rega R100

The elliptical stylus tracks from 1.5 to 2.0 g with 1.75 g nominal. The replaceable stylus shares the R100 name, and Phono Culture lists 3 compatible replacement styli.

Additional Info

The Rega R100, whose elliptical stylus the factory papers grandly call the Super hypo catino eiliptoid, leans forgiving. Vocals come through natural and unforced, imaging stays stable, and dynamics feel lively without turning harsh on lesser pressings. Bass keeps reasonably controlled rather than plush over a calm background, a relaxed musical MM for rock, jazz and mixed-condition collections. The stylus is user-replaceable, so wear never retires the body.
