Pickering TL-2
The Pickering TL-2 continues the American TL line on an MI generator. Its 4.4 mV output feeds any standard MM phono input. The elliptical stylus rides the groove at a light 0.85 to 1.5 g with 1.0 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the DTL-2, and Phono Culture lists 4 compatible replacement styli.
The Pickering TL-2 carries warm, forgiving character with a naturally rendered midrange, so vocals sit forward and textured rather than analytical. Dynamics stay lively enough to keep rock and pop engaging, bass runs full-bodied without boom, and the overall presentation smooths over rough recordings for relaxed long sessions. Part of the Pickering and Stanton MI P-mount family, it uses a replaceable DTL-2 elliptical stylus.
