Pickering Fluxvalve

The Pickering Fluxvalve uses a moving iron generator with a conical stylus profile and a strong 15 mV output, so it feeds any standard MM phono input without extra gain. Rated tracking force is 2.5 g with stylus A and 3.7 g with stylus C. Its replaceable stylus assembly carries the D3807A designation. Phono Culture lists three compatible replacement styli for this model.

The Pickering Fluxvalve is a vintage MI design with a forgiving, easygoing character. Its sphere-tipped tracing softens surface noise and imperfect pressings rather than digging for the last bit of detail, so vocals stay natural and bass keeps body. The warm, relaxed picture suits older LPs and mellow jazz or pop more than modern high-resolution systems. Also sold as the 380A, 380C and Collectors Series, it uses a replaceable stylus.
