Ortofon X1-MCP

The Ortofon X1-MCP is a high output MC cartridge in the upper mid range class. Its 2 mV output plugs into a standard MM phono input without a step up transformer. The elliptical stylus rides the groove at a light 1.25 to 1.50 g with 1.25 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond goes out for retipping.

Additional Info

The Ortofon X1-MCP is a high-output MC made to feed a standard MM phono input. Balance and natural tone come first, with smooth vocal reproduction, stable imaging and reasonably dense bass free of bloom. Dynamics stay controlled, suiting jazz, vocals and acoustic genres on modest to mid systems. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a professional retip.
