Ortofon OM 5E (ММ, алюминиевый кантилевер, вес 2.5 г) оптимально встанет в тонарм среднего класса эффективной массы — резонанс с массой 8–12 г держится в зоне 9.3–11 Гц (оптимально), с 18 г — 7.9 Гц (приемлемо). Фонокорректор нужен MM-входа с усилением 39–42 дБ и ёмкостью нагрузки ближе к 600 пФ (высокая ёмкость даёт лучший результат при 47 кОм). Прижимная сила и заточка иглы должны соответствовать паспорту производителя.
