Ortofon OM 10
The Ortofon OM 10 is an entry level MM cartridge built around a replaceable Stylus 10 insert with an elliptical stylus profile. Its 4 mV output suits any standard MM phono input, so no step up device or MC stage is needed. The rated tracking force runs from 1.25 to 1.75 g with a 1.5 g nominal setting. Phono Culture lists 4 compatible replacement styli for this model.

The Ortofon OM 10 favors comfort over surgical precision. Detail and dynamics stay moderate, letting vocals sound natural and unstrained rather than spotlit. The elliptical tip on an aluminum cantilever keeps tracking relaxed, which makes it a gentle match for casual listening and less-than-perfect pressings. The stylus is replaceable, so wear is easily addressed down the road.
