Dual DMS 245
The Dual DMS 245 shipped as stock on the German maker's entry level turntables. This MM cartridge pairs a conical stylus with a 4 mV output for any standard MM phono input. Rated tracking force runs from 1.75 to 2.25 g with 2.0 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the DN 245, and Phono Culture lists 3 compatible replacement styli.
The Dual DMS 245 favors comfort over forensic detail. Vocals come through natural and warm, dynamics stay moderate rather than punchy, and the conical tip trades ultimate precision for a smooth, non-fatiguing ride. Casual listening with older or worn records on budget-friendly setups suits it best. The stylus is replaceable, so a worn tip swaps out in seconds.
