Denon DL-304

The Denon DL-304 continues the maker's audiophile MC lineup. Its ultra low 0.18 mV output demands a high gain MC phono input or a step up transformer. The elliptical stylus rides the groove at a light 1.0 to 1.4 g with 1.2 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.

Additional Info

The Denon DL-304 is detailed, natural and controlled. High resolution meets a stable, well-focused image and firm bass density, vocals sit forward with real texture rather than etched glare, and the cross-shaped air-core coil keeps noise low for a clean background. Lively but never harsh dynamics suit jazz, acoustic and vocal material on revealing systems. The stylus is integrated, so wear means a retip.
