Denon DL-103Pro
The Denon DL-103Pro belongs to the family of variations on the classic DL-103 in the audiophile class. Its low 0.35 mV output requires a dedicated MC phono input or a step up transformer. The conical stylus tracks from 1.8 to 2.2 g with 2.0 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.
The Denon DL-103Pro builds on the classic DL-103 platform, tuned by HIGHPHONIC in Japan. Dense bass and full-bodied vocals give a weighty, immersive presentation, while brisk dynamics keep rock, jazz and orchestral material lively without turning bright. Detail and imaging stay solid rather than razor-sharp, a relaxed, musical and forgiving character for modest systems. The conical stylus is integrated, so wear means a retip.
