[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
Audio-Technica AT-VM95E
The Audio-Technica AT-VM95E is a budget MM cartridge with an elliptical stylus profile and a healthy 4 mV output, so any standard MM phono input will drive it properly. Its rated tracking force runs from 1.8 to 2.2 grams with 2.0 grams as the nominal setting. The AT-VMN95E stylus slides out for easy user replacement, and Phono Culture lists 6 compatible replacement styli for this model.
The AT-VM95E goes for a balanced, forgiving presentation rather than forensic detail. Vocals come through natural and warm, bass stays reasonably tight without crowding the mix, and the elliptical stylus on an aluminium tube cantilever tracks calmly even on so-so pressings. The stylus is replaceable, so upkeep stays easy. It suits vinyl newcomers and all-genre casual listening on modest to mid-tier setups.
